In my mind, it is the perfect example of a grown up tutu.
And it doesn't make me look like I'm playing dress up.
White Top (Gap); Tutu-esque Skirt (Gifted)
Red Heels (Payless); Faux Python Belt (Charlotte Russe)
Pink Ring ("Junk" Sale); Pink Necklace (Express)
Even though, in my mind, I am.
Have you included any pieces of clothing in your wardrobe that are reminiscent of the "dress up" clothes of your youth?

Oh, you look so beautiful! I am in *love* with that skirt. I always loved dresses that "twirled" when I was little, and I still get excited when I put on a twirly dress :)
I love all of your skinny belts! And I really like that picture of your ring. It's very artsy.. and yes, tutus are the best!!!
You're exactly right. The perfect grown up tutu. What do you think about the tutu from the opening of SATC?
Oh my goodness, move over girlish tutus and make room for Molly in her beautiful "tutu-esque" skirt! I absolutely love this look on you! Madame, you look stunning! And seriously, that ring from a "junk" sale? Why can't I ever find junk like theat in any kind of sale I frequent? This is one of my favorite outfits, Molly. Hello Spring! (It seems to say!) :)
That skirt is gorgeous!!! What a great birthday present.
Love it!! That skirt is gorgeous! Lucky girl.
aww it really is so so pretty!!!
Lisa has great gift giving skills. All Lisa's do ;) This skirt is so lady like, you don't look like you're playing dress up at all. And these shoes are AMAZING! I've got to get my butt over to Payless pronto!
what a sweet birthday gift! i looks great on you and i love the stripes with that belt! :) have fun playing dress up (but you don't *look* like you're playing dress up!). :)
you look darling in this outfit. I too love tutus, they are simply dreamy. Give me a twirl worthy skirt and I am a happy camper
amazing outfit!
This is a perfect grown-up version of a tutu. And the red and white micro-stripes really do come off as ballet pink. So lovely!
I'm always a tad conflicted about statement necklaces, especially those made of lucite or some other type of plastic. many of them are adorable, but I'm just not certain if I can still pull them off at 25...
I LOVE your tutu-inspired skirt! So sweet and pretty for spring, Molly.

Annnnd, do you like Degas paintings?
i agree! it's very tutu-like, but also sophisticated!
that skirt was made for those shoes! love it!
You look gorgeous. I think that skirt is completely perfect. I already feel I can't do tutus, but I'm in the market for something like that!
ohhh that skirt is so pretty!
I love the old-fashioned, full-skirted long dress. My mom made me one (complete with gold brocade lining around the scooped neckline and sleeves for Madrigals at Covenant. I keep putting it on for church, but haven't quite gotten up the nerve to actually wear it. : )
Beautiful! I love that its actually stripes, for some reason that just strikes me as being so fresh...
The vast majority of my wardrobe is reminiscent of the dress up clothes of my youth. :) I think my next outfit post will be tutu inspired!
I am in love with tutus as well and I think your "grown-up" version looks gorgeous!

that is a lovely, lovely skirt. perfect for the has-t-act-grown-up lady who still wants to dance like a girl. =)
Omigosh! That skirt is darling, just like you! It looks totally awesome from a distance and then BAM, you get up close and there's a whole 'nother world of cute in the details. Are you wearing this 2 or 3 times a week? I sure hope so.
You look so elegant & lovely in this outfit. I love all of the details, and those shoes, wow!
