To Keep My Job

Can someone please explain to me how personal style bloggers who live in places with REAL winters manage to look all stylish and chic when it's frickin' freezing outside?

Wool Pants: Gap; Black Oxfords: DSW
Scarf: Target

You have just seen the closest you are coming to a full shot of yesterday's outfit.  I was not willing to exchange my fingers for a better picture.  The magic wasn't happening and my fingers were getting numb.
So, I gave up.

I guess you're going to have to settle for a bit of cheesecake instead.
(I don't mean real cheesecake, either.  I was just talking about an up close, mega smiley picture of yours truly.)

Can I also offer you a detailed picture of my shoes and the remaining snow left over from our white Christmas?

I might not have even shared this outfit since it was just assembled to wear to work (IE. black and white dress code mentioned previously).  But, I believe it has magical powers.  I'm being totally serious.

The first time I wore it, the owner said the one and only positive thing she has ever said to me.  She said, "Now, don't you look nice?  Why can't we all dress just like that? That's a great example of a black and white outfit."  Score one for my ultra conservative, buttoned up look.  I didn't have the heart to tell her that really I just wore it because the sweater is cashmere and the pants are lined.  (Read: It's super warm.)

Today I wore it for the second time and was informed that they've officially decided to keep me on the schedule AFTER the holidays.  This magical outfit not only earned me high praise from the owner, it got me a permanent (super part-time) job.  Not. Too. Shabby.  Don't you think the good deeds it has done earned it a post?  Me too.

You're cute, even with your worries about not being as chic as some of our fellow bloggetts. Here's the thing, my theory is that they are sacrificing their flesh to frostbite for the price of style. Bahhumbug.
I'm in Florida, and before you glare in my direction (south) I'll have you know I've had some serious fashion/attire struggles this winter.
Problem #1 is I don't seem to have many . . . any warm clothes.
Couple that with Problem #2 the fact that most of the items comprising my outfits need to be from The Store that I work at . . . And you'll find me biding my time until things go on sale. AKA at the end of the season.
Bleh. Enough ranting. Like I said, you pulled off the cozy outfit nicely!

Congrats on keeping your job! It's always nice to have a little extra income, especially when it won't take over your life. (At least I think so.)

Holy crap it looks cold!!! I'm trying to figure it all out too this winter. We don't have snow but we have LOTS of rain. Mud is everywhere.
Congrats on being made into a permanent employee :)

wow...your outfit seems to have done you well!!..love the tailor pants and shoes...
I just park the car, run outside, set up the tripod, fling off my coat then take some photos. Then I grab the frozen metal tripod and RUN back to the car, jack up the heat, and down my warm coffee. I am sure I am a glutton for punishment. When it is snowing, raining or temps in the single digits I stay inside.

Love an outfit with magical powers!
Congrats on the extended job and I totally know what you mean about those midwestern girls posing in the snow like it is 75 degrees out.
I don't know what I will pose against in the house once the X-tree is gone. LOL

Hurray for staying on longer at work! They'd be foolish to let a stlyin' lady like you go!

Good job! I'd be wearing that lucky outfit all the time if that were me. Its not even that cold here (nowhere close to snowing) and I tried doing an outfit shot outside, but it wasn't happening. I was so cold, all the pics looked like I had to pee lol!

Congrats on the job! And I love the outfit, I have no idea how some people have so many cute pics in the snow when I have a hard time when it's 60 degrees!
