To Have REAL Problems

I found this jacket on a thrift store expedition (FOR LIKE $4!!!).

As I picked it up, I imagined putting it on, looking in the mirror and seeing this:

Today, I tried and I got this:

Real Problems

Not exactly what I envisioned.
But people, I've got so many REAL problems in my life (for instance, those indentations around my ankles when my socks are too tight ... or the Flixster app on my iPhone shutting down before I'm able to see what time the Bieber* movie is playing in 3D) that I have little room for minuscule wardrobe worries like this one.

Sure, it is less "Michael Kors" than I was imagining... but it's still pretty stinking cute.

Camel Jacket (thrifted); Boyfriend Jeans (similar)
Striped Top (similar); Snowdrift Booties
Black Beret (similar)

In case my sarcasm didn't communicate it (and it rarely does), I was feeling incredibly grateful today.  It was one of those days where I was faced with the magnitude of my good fortune.  My life is far from perfect, but there are just so, so many things that are incredibly easy in my life.  I stumbled onto this realization today when I really did worry for a minute about the indentations on my ankles from my socks!  Seriously.  I wouldn't make that up.  I mean if I am so blessed (sheltered, clothed, well fed, employed, loved) that I have time to worry about some sock indentations... let's go ahead and call me fortunate.
Mega shout out to The Big Man (occasionally that's what I like to call God) for his incredible generosity!

What is the most ridiculous thing you've caught yourself "stressing" about recently?

*Oh and for those of you keeping track that is 3 Bieber mentions on this blog in less than a week. I hadn't considered going for a record... until now.

That jacket is super cute. Damn that's a good thrift find.

I get those stupid ankle indentations too, and then they get itchy, and then I get hives. It sucks!

I can understand sweating the small stuff. I was completely stressed yesterday. It started with wedding expenses, but caused me to go completely overboard. I ended up getting upset because we just bought groceries and our cupboards were too full to fit some of the newly purchased food. I should have been thinking of how blessed I am to have an abundance of food, rather than cursed with too little cupboard space.
Sometimes you just have to put into the proper perspective.

Love your outfit and the most ridiculous thing that I have been stressing about was about should I wear my glass or contact lens for the day of my finals!! (It's was the weirdest and useless thing I ever stressed about)

Score on the jacket! I could probably name 100 silly things I stress about but can't think of any because it's so darn beautiful out today.

Yes, it's always disappointing to look in the mirror and not see a catalogue model with impossibly perfect hair and proportions looking back at you ...

But on the bright side, you do look really cute! That jacket was quite the find, and I love that you paired it with the hat. Very nice touch.

That jacket is super cute and for four dollars? My goodness! You can't even get a salad at Wendy's for that amount! I've been stressing about the fact that I'm sick of the cold. Sick, sick, sick. Today for the first time in a while, we saw some sun. I think spring is coming! :)

I stressed about me tooth-ache. And then I thought about SERIOUS health problems and pains that go with them. So I shut it. Patience and an aspirin helped a lot. :)

You're way more adorable in that jacket that that model is in hers.
Recently, I was UNHAPPY that I had several good choices of grad schools to choose from. So dumb right? I kinda wanted one good option so I would never have to wonder. It took me 2 days but I snapped out of it!

That jacket was such a great find! And you are so cute in that beret.

Also, ankle indentations are the worst.

You look super cute in this outfit!

As for me, I was totally stressed out about something at work - something I had made much bigger and scarrier because of hearsay - and instead it turned out to be the best day at work yet. Silly things like that and I was in tears this morning - and yet I was reminded that above all else I need to trust God. So in the end, even with all my stress and silliness, I still (re)learned an important lesson - God is God and I am not. :-)

That jacket is stinkin' cute and you look so awesome in that hat.
I'm a type A personality so I'm always stressing about small things that really don't matter much in the grand scheme of things. Lately, I've been trying to live the Hippie mantra of "Be here now" a little more.
Check out my cowl scarf give-away!

Did I tell you yet that you've inspired me? I'm going to take on this challenge as soon as I fit back into my regular clothes. I figure it will help keep me from shopping for new clothes and challenge me to create new outfits!
