To (try to) Keep It In Perspective

Do you ever have an idea that you find so brilliant and revolutionary that you practically burst with pride and dream about how it's going to change the lives of millions of people?

And then do you GET A GRIP and say to yourself, "Self, will you try and remember that we are just talking about tights here?"

Well, that is pretty much exactly what happened when I was getting dressed.  I realized that it is way too chilly outside for these super fancy fishnets. Also, the red tights can be a bit much.  However, when layered the look is so very much more than the sum of its parts.  I'm excited because I've discovered a whole new (to me) world of hosiery.  (and multiplied my tights wardrobe for FREE)

Striped Dress Worn as Top: Thrifted; Skirt: Made by MEEEEEE
Two, two, two pairs of tights: Target & Closet sale find
Boots: Rocket Dog via Amazon; Necklace: Gift from my little seester
Belt: Thrifted

I'm telling you necessity is the mother of invention.  Well, I guess Plato really told us that.  But I'm mentioning it again because it seems appropriate here. He wouldn't mind that I borrowed his thought would he?

Seriously, I'm sitting here in long pants and a wool sweater and my nose, feet, and hands are frozen. Are you not COLD?? Is it that much warmer down there?? Or am I just a freak? Probably the last option. ;-) Cute idea to layer your tights!

What a genius idea! I love how your tights now reflect your top and they're the perfect compliment to the boots. Love this look!

What a great idea! It looks like it was meant to be that way from pictures. Did you get any comments? I could never do that here in AZ. Well not never but definitely not yet.

I thought I was awesomely creative a few months ago when I decided to turn a bracelet into a necklace by tying black lace to it, but this IS REALLY AWESOME! Great idea! In my post I have scheduled for Sunday I'm wearing some black net tights and I will for sure be layering those with some of my colored tights in the future. I'll be sure to mention that I got the idea here (if that's o.k.?)! Thanks.

I did that at Halloween! I wanted to just wear the fishnets but it was like 30 degrees! SO I put them over my brown tights!

I don't know how well you can see it here, but I did it, too! Great minds and all!

You are brilliant, I'm definitely going to try this with some lace tights I have that just don't look right by themselves.

Tights?! Layered?! It's MADNESS! And yet, it looks so amazing on you! What a great look. I feel revolutionized! I think I need a glass of wine now. LOL I love how you have fun with your outfits! ~Serene

Aww, cute! I like your pairing. I used to layer tights all the time in high school b/c I was a weirdo, but your version is more socially acceptable and fashion-oriented! :)

I love the tights - I think revolutionary was a perfect word. :) Unfortunately, I don't think I have any fancy fishnets like that ... sad! Maybe after my 30 is over? :)

I love the layered tights look! The red might be too much alone, but the fishnets tone them down beautifully. Which is funny, isn't it? Fishnets toning something down?

Cute outfit!

I love layering fishnets - I always find them a little "breezy" and with something underneath it softens the look a little too. The red looks great.

I like your tights.
I still need to figure out how to not look like an idiot when I wear tights.
