To Subtly Transition

This top and this skirt are two of my favorite pieces in my closet.  Partly because they are comfortable and mostly because they were both orphaned at America's Thrift by some very silly girl and therefore a total steal.

I'm not sure why it's taken me this long to combine the two pieces into one outfit.
After all, I am in the home stretch at this point.
Did you notice that the "to go" number is now down to a single digit??
I did! I did!

Combining these two lovelies with my most favoritest belt and some wacky argyle socks seemed like the logical and stylish thing to do.  I've hidden most of the socks, frankly because I am Chattanooga is NOT ready for a full-on argyle assault.

As you can tell by the knee glow in that previous picture, even though the weather has been saying, "bare legs" my DNA does not allow for such frivolity this early in the almost-Spring.

Striped Top (J. Crew - thrifted); Green Skirt (J.Crew - thrifted)
Boots (Victoria's Secret); Argyle Socks (Target)
My Favorite Belt (thrifted); Necklace (A gift from a local boutique)
Nail Polish (OPI, You Don't Know Jacques)

But, be warned people, the bare legs are coming.  I'm just letting them out inch by inch to acclimate so as not to injure innocent passers by. Meanwhile, I'm spending my time thoroughly grateful that the temps are still mild enough for tights or the occasional socks + knee high boots combo.

How are you subtly transitioning between seasons?

Congrats on nearly almost making it to the end of your remix challenge!

I love striped shirts with almost anything, so this is a winner in my book - I like to think of stripes as a neutral (though I wonder what Stacey and Clinton would say about that, hm ...)

This is one of my favorite outfits you've ever posted. I especially love the socks/boots combo.

...And that belt! I drool with envy everytime you wear it!

I really like boots without tights as a transition into spring. Especially since, like you, my legs can be blinding after the winter months.

I've been letting my pasties (white legs) make an appearance at the gym in capris to slowly inch my way out of the winter funk. :) I love your green skirt.

I love the socks-peeking-over-the-boot look! So cute.

I'm not transitioning between seasons because it's still freaking cold here. :(

I love the stripes with the green skirt! I definitely agree that those must have been donated by someone very silly, but it's definitely good for you!

Loving that green skirt! And my favourite skirt is also a thrifted find... it's amazing what people let go!

I'm doing skirts with tights and open toe shoes, dresses with boots and bare legs, or pants with open toe shoes and bare feet to transition. And I'm still often too hot in Houston. Already, sighs.
