To Try To Do Some Shopping

With the next 30 for 30* challenge just around the corner, I decided to do a little bit of shopping today.
I wasn't planning to go crazy; I just wanted to find that perfect little mixable dress to add to my items.

Trying to Shop

But try as I might I could not spend my money today.
It was one of those days where I was prepared to shop and so I couldn't find ANYTHING.

It was nothing like most days, where our budget is telling me, "no, no, no you really shouldn't shop," and then everything I see I want to buy.

My unsuccessful trip means I'll be headed into the challenge without a new version of that perfect little mixable dress.  Boo.

UNLESS, I find something on the interwebs in the next few days...

I'm curious, am I the only one more tempted by forbidden fruit?
Do you ever find yourself financially prepared to shop but unable to find ONE thing worth bringing home?

That always happens to me! I'm ready to shop and find nothing...

But I really love this simple dress you've got! I think it's a great blank canvas!

Pretty much every time I go shopping with a specific item in mind I can't find it. Love your outfit!

Isn't that always the way
when you can't have it you see it everywhere and when you can you can't find it anywhere!

How about when you are at the mall, or passing by a store, with absolutely no time because you're shopping for something for the house or doing other errands? THEN the racks are full off stuff you want. I always see great things when I am on vacation and have no space in my suitcase, too.

And I agree -- the dress you're wearing should go far!

My problem is when I'm searching for something specific. If I'm just out and about with nothing specific in mind, I'll probably find a thousand things I want, but if I'm looking for that one perfect dress/pair of shoes/blouse, it's always so impossible to find!

This happens to me EVERY time I'm actually able to shop! I don't think I've actively gone out shopping in awhile just because of that. I keep my expectations low these days when it comes to shopping :/.

But you look lovely!

Successful shopping depends on so many factors...the right mood, the right selection, money to spend. Sometimes it all comes together, sometimes it doesn't. I've had many experiences where I planned to buy things and nothing worked out, but lots of other times where it seemed like everything was destiny and I end up with a bunch of great stuff!

Isn't it amazing how that works? Every time I decide I can buy something I can't find a thing and the rest of the time I see countless items I want. I'm excited to see your 30 for 30! That scarf is beautiful.

For me it's the opposite--I'm ready to shop and I'm never financially able. :) Love that scarf! And you look super cute in this dress!

Molly, I am so glad that I am not the only one that felt the need to shop before their 30 for 30! I thrifted over the weekend and plan to hit up the sale rack at Gap tomorrow... I just think I need more basics - aka non-striped tops!
I can't wait to see your remix!!

I am planning on laying out my items tomorrow to make there isn't anything I really need. And I'm pretty sure that it's always hardest to find something when you are looking specifically (and can afford it).

That happened to me yesterday, in fact. It was ridiculous, and I kept going from one store to the next, but finally had to give up. However, when I got home, something I'd ordered online had arrived. Bonus!

Um...I'm a little nervous about this whole 30 for 30 thing too...and I am TOTALLY going shopping today. Just the thought of going 30 days without is enough to spur me on to cash in gift cards and coupons that i've been holding on to. Glad I'm not alone! Today the hunt for shoes and jeans begins!
